The curse of Kali

The curse of Kali (for Alid)

Dr Chaz I am near you
From the legends of Kali
I heard the churning of the Ocean
There the milk frothed and changed state

A poison I have brewed for my enemies
Madhva can relate this story true to you
It with me, are now locked in legend
Or so it is told to all men to deceive

Halahala will be mine to give too many
Even Vaya tried to make it weak
His winds could not reduce Halahala
A gift of the milky Oceans fury

Shiva he turned blue with just a sip
In a gold pot, held in the arms of Vaya.
They hunted me down killing my friends
I alone stand against the dark demons

I am the remaining essence of Halahala
Touch me not or death will visit your door
My kith and kin the hungry of the packs
The loan tiger the wolf are of my loins

Watch for me under the Cobras hood
Part me, part poison, churned Oceans milk
Wait for me in scriptures of evil doings
Shiva is my pen where other scribe truths

you cannot win I hold the hand that holds the pen
you cannot rewrite all those words again
I am the hero of the underworld invisible
I shall possess your mortal frame, no escape

I shall enter your heart and show new ways.
Yet they are the dark ways of forever,
Yours Kali!

Calliope
A long story to write of you,
An Epic will that do
On many tablets as in days of old
This is how your story is told

Clio
Of times past you tell
Of battles won, and times of hell
Rest a while let your scrolls foresee
A calming image, for you and me.

Erato
Sing lyric’s softley to me please
A beauty toned from your lyre to tease
Play to me in dreams, stories of old
Tales from the Greeks so I’m told.

Euterpe
Sing to me in melodious tones
Play rhythms in modern head phones
“No!” You say this cannot be
On my Aulos playing, just listen to me.

Melpomene
Of tragedy you are walled in
A mask you wear that has no grin
Talk to me of things I’ve done
Where there is hurt in everyone.

Polyhymnia
A beauty of the Sacred Verse
Tales of love for the universe
Veiled from those that cannot see
Give me a glimpse of eternity.

Terpsichore
Oh wondrous words of dancing fun
A song made let lyrics run
Oh play, for me, on your Lyre
Let me dance away, filled with fire.

Thalia
Let’s have some Comic fun
Words of mirth let poetry run
That mask you wear makes us smile
Please let me wear it for a while.

Urania
With your eyes I search the stars
With telescopes that see afar
Poetry on a globe you know
A compass in your hand to show..

Just waiting

Just waiting

I talk, you think it’s a dream
I understand your frustration
I walk with you though not seen
Daily needs crease your brow

If we were nearer we would dwell
on times of joy and fun things too
yet we are stuck with realities stew
I recall the lost the ways of old

When we would play with colours
Rainbow wraps tangle your thoughts
Crystals falling alleviating your fears
Love sent in pastel shades like summer haze

Recall the creatures we could love and play
present ones and those of past days
I remember flying on a Dragons dream
then unicorns and Pegasus seldom seen

Real things now just pass me by
I dream of old times when I could fly
where should I stay in the balance of things?
With before or now in my dreams

So when I ask you to walk with me
and there my body you cannot see
just let me live in my own reality
there in future days we both shall be.

I am of the nation
I travel far to find my family
Boundaries have we none
I know you as you know me
My Mother taught me so
I know you, ” a ni wa ya”
You speak in our tongue
But the words are of another

I am of the, “a ni sa ho ni” people
Yet I listen to you young one
Your clan has been spread
Many left by the wayside
Yet you are still many
The largest arm of our Nation
You are our protectors

The First New Moon of Spring.
Has past and the seven did well.
I will keep food for you till
Green Corn dances the days away,
Of the Stomp, Feather and Buffalo
Not eating, playing games.
Then to be cleansed by the water
To hold our Sacred Prayers

Of seven and four we hold dear
Our seven that scattered to the four
While three levels we retain.
The Owl looks on as the Cougar screams
Our balance is retained therein.
Secretive yet open in their ways
We will dance in a great circle
Then let the Long man take our dreams.

The little people will come if called
They are our Brothers though so small
Hair that sweeps the very chaff
Remember they live in all things.
Guides to lost children they are
As children they play with us.
Bringing happiness to a sad child,
Creating purpose to the befuddled.

Treat them with respect
Bother them not with silly ways,
Or silly ways will stick in your mind
Should you see them be blessed!
Let not a lose tongue talk of them
As the westerner and his broken mirror
Take seven years to talk of them
Never speak to them after sunset.

Beware of false cures in this life
The Raven Mocker, may be in disguise
Seek only the pure to be cured of ills
Seek not a cure from one that ails
They are a false being in our eyes
Mix today with yesterday to be safe
Only smoke with the fit one
Then drink the waters they give to you

May your ways with the Wolf be many.
I shall read of you in the dens of the Great Bear.

Drgons Breath (revised)

The dragon gasped, opening its mouth.
With the smoke of ancient days,
Glowing with the break of a new day,
Clenching its sharpened mind inside

Fleeting thoughts descended
Through darkened tunnels
As a flight of arrows flew,
Destined to pierce his soul

Holding him still, while the ogres of life
Drained the blood of his being
Screaming he lifted off to fly
Flying in circles to see his own body

As he arched his graceful neck,
To see if his ancient soul was safe
Or could escape from any harm
Checking each facet of his body

There through his skin of scales
that held the rainbows glow
Plate after plate glowed in his eyes
showing there was no need to worry

Oh where, are your worries held?
There deep, deep inside him he cried?
I only see the reflection of things gone,
Only drifting by as my wings beat

Then why did my soul believe,
that there was harm, he sighed?
Because you had lost sight of the you,
your self, oh creature of myth

Your being, held in the mind’s eye,
Lest your truth is unreal
Where the hollows of times gone,
Brings such comfort to one’s soul

Look to the perfection there
See only the fault of forever
Look as he did at the real outside
There you can see your reality

The Dark Room

The dark room

The darkness closed about my form
In think, there were my fellow travellers
They closed the spaces between our ways
A common bond let feelings be born.

We tried to think something you all should know
All things became muddled as many wanted
Then peace took over, where pure thought could rule
Tell them, tell them, though it is not for us to be cruel

The thoughts of horror held the sway
Future times that saw many swept away
Rulers and leaders that falsely held
Their people, forgetting that they are real

The think evolved and pulsated so
Out there the truth should be told
There are very few now that are free
A sorry state is this humanity

They in their stupidity could not see
The Earth would move, not many would be
That those that were left behind
A struggling mass of human kind

Do you think there will be a change
No things will remain the same
Where greed and hate of others
Will be a base for a new world

A Dragon’s Breath

The dragon gasped, opening its mouth
With the smoke of ancient days
Glowing with the break of day as it clenched its mind
Trying to keep its soul intact
Fleeting thoughts descended through darkened tunnels
As a flight of arrows, destined to pierce
Or maim the very ways of a soul
Holding it still, while the ogres of life
Drained the blood of its very being
Screaming he lifted off to fly in circles to see his own body
As he arched his neck, to see if his very soul
Could escape or come to harm
There through his skin of scales that held the rainbows glow
Plate after plate in his eyes he saw there was no need to worry
Though worry was deep within
All was held complete as the evening came
Oh where, where are your worries held, deep inside he cried?
I only see the reflection of things gone, that only drifted by
Then why did my soul believe that there was harm he did sigh?
Because you had lost sight of your real self, oh creature of myth
Your very being held in the minds eye, lest reality is unreal
Where the hollows of myth, brings such comfort to ones real soul
Look to perfection there you will see only the fault of forever
Look as he did at the real outside to see reality
Even in your dreaming

The Dragons Dream

The Dragons Dream

The dragons are the dragons of my mind
Who breathe a fire that sometimes is unkind!
As it is truth that sears the air
Of maidens held with to much fear
In fetters old as used before
The stains are left they are no more
The dragon takes things offered him
The beast there is the soul within
This holds maidens purity
With which a dragon can fly free
Would you live in this poverty?
Or excel to make the old times true
Where dragons fly with spirits new

Of mystical lands and creatures held
In awe of fairy times and tales fortold
We knew here inside where there are few
If only they could dream as you
That can reach the realms of flying dreams
Where dragons breathe or so it seems
They live for evermore
Why do you dream of things so bold
In days gone by or so it’s told
It’s not gone by I scream anew
The dragon’s breath that dries the dew
That the mornings air in reality
Would scatter on the ground for you and me
Tell me fair maiden what you would rather be
Tied by chains for a soul to give a dragon be
Or tied by chains of this our lost humanity
Do tell me true that I may see
Which to us is true reality

It was a Being

It was a Being

The dragon curved a course across the face of the sun
Wings catching the fire screaming with joy
That the rays played hide and seek with the lace patterns
Strength portrayed in intricate forms,

Holding the golden light with delicate touches
Changing as it’s soul burden bid it’s ways
Take heed not to stir my balance of things
She whispered to his soul

Take with you in your soul my soul
Mould around in the patterns of time as we belong
The waves of light played with the flight
As if it knew that the souls were to be joined

Joined in the eternal after life
There where all things just glow
That they have fulfilled promises of old
Given birth then nurtured and finally freed

Fly on, within this curve the dragon did see its soul
Joined with another, in an eternity
The feelings always rolled outward
Warmed by the rays of the sun

Soul on soul passed on, scattering a life form
Born of only truth that two souls joined, so can be
Take with you the life force of two
That they may be joined for always

That a dragon has a spirit rider, and they are as one, is beautiful to behold.
